Comedy legend Phill Jupitus is heading for this year’s Aberdeen Comedy Festival.
The Never Mind The Buzzcocks star is one of four big name comedians announced for the 10-day event being held in the Granite City from October 4.
Rising comedian Desiree Burch, Scottish funnyman Larry Dean and acclaimed stand-up Tiff Stevenson will also bring their latest shows to the north-east.
They join a line-up which includes headline gigs by Reginald D Hunter, David O’Doherty and Tom Allen at venues across the city centre.
Adrian Watson, chief executive of Aberdeen Inspired, which is behind the festival, said: “As we enter the third year of the Aberdeen Comedy Festival, we are delighted to bring Fringe favourites, comedy legends and stand-out headliners to entertain the city’s audiences again.
“Our aim is to develop Scotland’s third-largest and fastest-growing comedy festival which will provide the best comedy, of all genres, for both residents and visitors to enjoy right here in Aberdeen.”
Phill will bring his show, Juplicity, to the Douglas Hotel on Monday October 8.
Festival organisers says it is a “coup” to have Desiree make her Aberdeen debut in the intimate surrounds of the Blue Lamp on Wednesday October 10.
A regular Fringe sellout, she is a familiar face from shows such as Have I Got News For You and QI.
Larry will bring his latest show, Bampot, to the Park Inn by Radisson on October 7.
Meanwhile, Tiff, who fans will know from her appearances on Mock The Week and the Bafta-nominated Just Do Nothing, will make her Aberdeen debut with Bombshell at the Carmelite on Thursday October 11.
Adrian said: “We would encourage Aberdonians and people from the wider north-east to make the most of the award-winning comedy in the city.”
