Panto fans are set to see their wishes come true at His Majesty’s Aladdin this year – without the help of a genie.
Instead, they could win some ice cream treats courtesy of special lucky lids hidden in ice cream tubs sold at the Aberdeen theatre during the pantomime’s run from Saturday to January 7.
The prizes include ice cream or coffees at the new Mackie’s 19.2 parlour in Marischal Square, when it opens later this year.
Yvonne Harrison, manager of Mackie’s 19.2, said: “We’re throwing in an extra Christmas present in the form of a grand prize – our Three Wishes Raffle.
“This gives lucky winners the chance to get their hands on three wonderful prizes – a year’s worth of ice cream and coffee at our parlour, a chocolate party for 10 people or a very special parlour afternoon tea for four people.”
Aladdin stars Jimmy Osmond as the evil Abanazer, with Jordan Young as Aladdin and Alan McHugh as Widow Twankey.
Jane Spiers, chief executive of APA, said: “We’re expecting around 60,000 people through the door and looking forward to welcoming each and every customer.”
