Plans for outdoor seating at a popular Aberdeen city centre coffee shop have been given the green light.
Proposals had been submitted to Aberdeen City Council for the change of use of part of the pavement area outside Starbucks on Upperkirkgate.
And now the plans have been given the go-ahead by the local authority.
The council’s decision notice states: “The use of the area of pavement for outdoor seating would enhance the vitality and viability of the retail centre.”
Planning documents submitted as part of the initial application said: “It is proposed to site four tables and 16 chairs in this area which will be positioned away from the main entrance and flush to the shop front.
“It is felt that the use of the site for external seating will be appropriate and can be accommodated without harm to the amenity of neighbouring residents or other occupiers.”
The seating is planned to be used between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday, 7.15am to 7pm on Saturdays and 8.45am to 6.30pm on Sundays.
