A council service point has unveiled its new opening hours.

The number of people coming to see council staff face-to-face at Aberdeenshire Council’s Ellon service point was falling.

So council bosses decided to change its opening hours based on public feedback.

On an online post, the council said it appreciated it was “still really important” residents have the chance to speak to someone in person.

The facility will be open from 8.45am to noon and 1.30pm to 5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

However, it will be closed on Thursdays and Fridays.

Aberdeenshire residents are able to make payments for their rent by cash, cheque or debit card at any of the local authority’s service points.

Aside from Ellon, they are also located in Banff, Huntly, Inverurie, Peterhead and Turriff.
