One-way system to be put in place on part of busy Aberdeen road

Traffic restrictions are set to be placed on a section of a busy Aberdeen road.

A one-way system will be in operation on Wellington Road from 8pm on Friday until 6am on Monday for drivers heading towards the city while AWPR works are carried out.

The restriction will be between its junctions at the A956 Wellington Road and Cove Road.

Fraser Bell, head of legal and democratic services at Aberdeen City Council, said: “The effect of the order is to impose a temporary one-way restriction on Wellington Road, between its junction with the A956 Wellington Road and Cove Road.

“The permitted direction of travel will be southbound only.

“The measures are necessary to protect public safety during Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route works.

“An alternative route is available via Cove Road, Earns Heugh Road, Langdykes Road, and Wellington Road.”
