THE number of homes allowed to be built at a major development has been restricted until a new bypass is completed.
The Newhills development in Aberdeen has plans for 4,440 homes over three sites – 1,940 at Rowett South, 1,000 at Craibstone South and 1,500 at Greenferns Landward.
The Rowett South development is the first phase of the project.
Proposals for this site also include a health centre with a doctors’ surgery and a dentist, as well as the possibility of a new primary school and Travellers’ site.
However, it has been decided that only 375 properties – 200 at Craibstone South and 175 at Rowett South – can be built before the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) is finished.
