North-east trains cancelled as Storm Caroline hits

Trains in and out of the Granite City have been cancelled

Train services across the North-east have been suspended with winds of up to 90mph expected to hit.

With a weather warning in place as a result of Storm Caroline, a number of trains in and out of the Granite City have been cancelled.

National Rail said there is major disruption from Aberdeen to Glasgow with services cancelled throughout the day.

Storm Caroline is also causing issues between Aberdeen to Inverness and Aberdeen to Edinburgh with trains suspended.

National Rail said: “Road transport will run between Aberdeen and Inverness.

“However, this will be a limited service and road conditions are also subject to change as the day goes on.

“Customers wanting to travel to Aberdeen are advised to travel on the Edinburgh to Dundee services and connect with a limited train shuttle which will run between Dundee and Aberdeen.”

Journey times between Aberdeen and Dundee are expected to take longer as speed restrictions are put in place.
