Thieves stole a car and a TV – after using a hook to fish the door keys through the letterbox.
Police said criminals targeted a property at Kings Road, Stonehaven, and fled with electrical items including a TV as well as a silver Audi A4.
The victim told police the front door was locked at the time of the break-in and the offenders put a hook through the letterbox to fish out the keys and gain entry.
The incident happened in the early hours of March 10.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “The Audi was recovered the next day. Inquiries remain ongoing into the theft.”
Crime prevention advice on the Police Scotland website reads: “Don’t leave keys in the door, as they can be turned or stolen through the letterbox.”
Detective Sergeant Andy Machray appealed for information about the break-in and added: “Police can be contacted on 101.”
