North-east road blocked after car goes on fire

A busy Aberdeenshire road is blocked after a car burst into flames.

Police and fire crews were called to the B979 Netherley Road from Stonehaven to Maryculter road just after 3.15pm today.

Three fire crews from Stonehaven have been called to the scene where a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus was used.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were called by the fire service at 3.22pm after a car went on fire on the B979.

“No one was injured as a result of the incident.”
