A north-east primary school is to take part in creating the first memorial to the battle of Prestonpans.
Pupils from Hanover Street Primary School will contribute handprints to be included in a banner to honour The Battle of Prestonpans, which took place in 1745.
The handprints, printed on textile sqaures, will be stitched together by volunteers into banners to be used in a procession in Greenhills on September 15.
Hanover Street was selected because of its name and proximity to Aberdeen Harbour, where the Hanoverian army embarked before sailing south to Dunbar and then on to Prestonpans.
