An award-winning tourist attraction hopes to entice more visitors from Europe by launching a series of guide books written in different languages.
Peterhead Prison Museum has created pamphlets in French, German and Spanish.
The museum hopes the new guides will encourage tourists to visit the former jail.
After opening its doors in 2014, the site has gone on to be a hit with people from Aberdeenshire and further afield.
The museum won the innovation in tourism prize at last year’s Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards.
Now staff hope tourists from the continent will want to come and learn about the justice system from the Victorian era.
Museum operations manager Alex Geddes said: “We had a meeting with VisitScotland and their French and German teams, who are keen to get into those markets.”
