A man has denied getting behind the wheel while five-and-a-half times the legal alcohol limit.
Daniel McDonald’s case called at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday over the alleged incident on May 4.
The 31-year-old faces a charge of driving a car on Market Street in Ellon with 275 milligrammes of alcohol in 100ml of blood.
The legal limit is 50 milligrammes.
McDonald, whose address was given as Golf View, Ellon, is further accused of failing to give information as to the identity of the driver to police.

Defence agent Gregor Kelly, representing McDonald, entered a not guilty plea to both charges on his client’s behalf.
The case will call again on December 21, with a provisional trial date set for January 21.
