A ward at a North-east hospital has been forced to close to new admissions.
Ward 7 at Stracathro Hospital, in Angus, will not be taking new patients due to a small number currently in the ward who have been displaying flu-like symptoms.
A spokeswoman for NHS Tayside said: “Patients in the ward are being monitored, and appropriate infection control and prevention measures are in place.
“To help reduce the spread of infection, people are asked to avoid visiting if possible and visitors who have coughs and colds that could be flu are asked not to visit friends and relatives until they are better.
“NHS Tayside apologises for any inconvenience.”
The health board has also urged patients with flu-like symptoms who are aged 65 or over, pregnant, have a long term medical condition or a weakened immune system to speak to their doctor about getting vaccinated against the flu.
