North-east homes have been hit by a power cut after a branch landed on power lines.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) engineers were alerted to the issue in the Huntly area of Aberdeenshire at 8.30am.
Though the incident only initially affected two homes, to ensure the safety of residents SSEN engineers isolated power supplies to six properties to repair the fault.
It is estimated that power will be restored to these properties by 11.30am.
A SSEN said: “We would like to apologise to our customers in the Huntly area for any inconvenience caused and thank them for their patience as our engineers work to restore their power supplies as quickly as possible.
“As Storm Ali tracks through the country today, we are urging members of the public not to approach any damage to our equipment, and instead, report it either by calling 105 or via our Power Track App and our teams will investigate as soon as possible.”
