A keen fiddle player hopes to build on the success of a band he started at college.
Duncan Adams, who is from Banchory and now lives in Laurencekirk, studied for a two-year HND in Music and graduated on Thursday.
The 19-year-old, who helped out on his family’s farm alongside his studies, began five-piece ceilidh band North of the Glens while at college.
He said: “It was really my passion and love for music that drew me to the music course.
“Towards the end of school, when I was doing music, I decided that was what I really enjoyed.
“The practical side is what I enjoyed the most, and playing with other people – but playing solo is good fun too.
“The course showed me a lot of theory aspects I’d never really thought of before.
“It was a really good experience.”
