A teenager has admitted punching a police officer.
The 16-year-old girl, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared in court and admitted one charge.
The teen admitted punching the police constable in the head on September 15 during an incident in Ellon.
The court heard she was part of a group of young people in the area.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard: “They were seemingly drinking. Police had asked them to desist. The group became abusive towards police, shouting and swearing.”

In the course of the incident the teen punched the constable, and he sustained “extensive swelling and bleeding to his nose”.
Defence agent David Sutherland said his client hoped to work with troubled youngsters, saying: “She knows she has got experience of that in her own past.”
Sentencing was deferred until next month.
