A fireworks display is to be held in aid of a north-east cancer charity.
The Fireworks Against Cancer Son et Lumiere is held yearly to raise funds for UCAN.
The event takes place at The Haughs on Queen’s Road, Turriff, on October 27, with gates opening at 5pm.
A competition is under way with schools in the area for one pupil to be given the chance to press the button to start the display. Funds raised will go towards the £1,285,000 needed to continue supporting families dealing with cancers and to fund the specialist nurse services.
UCAN chairwoman Justine Royale said: “Currently our UCAN team and UCAN centre provides super-specialist support for cancer patients and their families and we would like to expand this area to ensure we continue to stand apart as the leading force in transforming the care cancer patients and their families require.”
