A north-east farmer has been injured after a bull weighing about a tonne reared up and landed on him.
Douglas Smith had been in the ring at Thainstone Mart, near Inverurie, when the incident took place during a show of pedigree bulls.
The incident has been reported to the Health and Safety Executive.
As people were ushered from the arena, a blanket was wrapped around Mr Smith before paramedics arrived and took him to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
A spokesman for Thainstone Mart said that staff were “very disappointed and concerned” about the incident.
Aberdeen and Northern Marts chief executive Grant Rogerson said: “Everyone was very shocked about the incident, and we hope Mr Smith makes a full recovery.”
