This little piggie may have got lost in the north-east on its way to market.
And while we can’t be sure where it was going, we can be sure it’s been rescued.
Police officers on patrol on the A96 in the early hours of yesterday morning spotted this little piglet on the road near Elgin.
Nicknamed Branston Piggle, he was taken back to the station while efforts were made to trace where it had escaped from.
Thanks to the efforts of the officers, the piglet has now found a new home and has settled in well.

Last night this little fella was handed in to Elgin Police office. The irony of a Pig being here knows no bounds and…
In the post they said: “It’s most likely he’s fallen off a transporter or escaped from a local pig farm.
“After a night behind bars his future was looking uncertain… it seemed that he was going to be put to sleep if a home couldn’t be found!
“Anyway, I have a friend who has a small holding and is a sucker for a sob story… So, half an hour later he has a new home and and has been named Branston Piggle!
“Here he is settling in! Still very small so hopefully he will pull through with some TLC!”
