A north-east beer festival has been nominated for a national award.
The Banchory Beer Festival, celebrating its fifth year, was nominated for the gong at the Scottish Hospitality Awards.
Mungo Finlayson, who created the festival along with his brother Guy, said: “I received a phone call a few weeks ago telling us we’d be nominated as finalists.
“I was absolutely delighted to receive the call, even more so as someone, we still don’t know who, had nominated us, making all our hard work building the festival up over the last few years worthwhile.”
Since the brothers created the festival in 2013, it has expanded into a series of events across the north-east.
The Inverurie Beer Festival, as well as events celebrating gin, in the form of the Scottish Gin Festival and OriGins are among the events they host.
The festival is held twice a year – in February and a larger event in August at Deeside Rugby Club.
The winner will be named at a ceremony in the Crowne Plaza hotel in Glasgow on May 29.
