Nine north-east beaches have received gongs for their high standards.
Eight beaches in Aberdeenshire, including Peterhead and Balmedie, as well as Aberdeen beach, have been given a Scottish Beach Award by environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.
Beaches were graded on their cleanliness, user friendliness, and amenities.
Councillor Bill Howatson, the Lord Provost of Aberdeenshire, said: “We’re pleased to have done so well in these awards, which are formal recognition of the consistently high standards of beaches throughout Aberdeenshire, and the work which goes in to keep them that way.
“It is very important that people can enjoy our area’s enchanting beaches in a clean and sustainable environment and hopefully take away memories which will last a lifetime. We pride ourselves on the quality of our outdoor environment and hope this recognition will encourage even more people to experience the very best of Aberdeenshire.”
