A date is still to be fixed for the launch of a new multi-storey car park at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – despite anticipation that it would open this month.
Work began last October on the 1,000-space car park at the Foresterhill Health Campus after oil tycoon Sir Ian Wood pledged £10 million to pay for construction.
A report presented at last month’s NHS Grampian board meeting said it was anticipated that the car park would open this month but a board spokeswoman has confirmed that a date is yet to be fixed.
It is understood that the opening could now take place in October.
Once open, the car park will be restricted for the use of visitors and patients – a condition of the project going ahead.
About 13,000 vehicles visit the site each day, including staff, patients and visitors.
