A health service has launched a new eight-week programme to support women during pregnancy.
NHS Grampian will soon host Baby Steps – an interactive programme suitable for mums-to-be with a BMI over 30.
Beginning on October 3, the classes take place every Wednesday from 10am-12pm at Aberdeen Sports Village.
Research shows there are many risks associated with having a BMI of 30 or above while pregnant.
Run by midwives, the sessions will provide women with the knowledge and skills to improve their health and wellbeing.
Classes will include appropriate activities such as gentle walks by trained walk leaders and practical cooking sessions delivered at CFINE.
Light refreshments will also be provided at each session.
