THE new chief of Oil and Gas UK today said there would be “no winners” if offshore workers went on strike.
Deirdre Michie, the new chief executive of the industry body, said people had to pull together in response to soaring operational costs and falling crude prices.
She said: “If we move to industrial action there will be no winners.
“The challenges are not going to be resolved by industrial action.
“They’re going to be resolved by people co-operating.”
Unions have been at loggerheads over oil and gas companies’ efforts to tighten their belts by making changes to rotas, sick pay and leave entitlement.
