THESE are the first images showing how a “desolate” playpark could look following a major revamp.
Aberdeen’s City Centre Community Council is continuing to try to raise money in a bid to revitalise Skene Street play area.
And the plans have taken a step forward after images, produced by Lucy MacKenzie, a partner at city architects George Watt and Stewart, were today unveiled for the first time.
Although costs are still being totalled, the group hopes to raise enough money which would see an area created with play space for children as well as energy-storing outdoor gym equipment for adults.
The group has already had donations from people around the city, having received a £24,000 boost from Aberdeen Greenspace in June.
Discussions have already taken place with a company over buying the hi-tech gym equipment which would be capable of hosting wi-fi or even creating energy for the park in Gilcomston.
