A North-east model is preparing to take part in the finals of a top competition next year.
Former Portlethen Academy pupil Serena Masson will take to the stage of the Hilton London Metropole in April after being selected as a finalist in the natural beauty category of Top Model.
In preparation for the event she will undertake an extensive coaching weekend in February with a dress rehearsal the following month.
Finalists from the event, which supports charity Children with Cancer, have gone on to have careers with Vogue and walk the runways at the London and Paris Fashion week.
The 20-year-old said she was thrilled at being picked as a contender. She said: “When I first heard about the event, I thought it sounded very exciting, but it’s also a great way to fundraise for Children with Cancer.
“I lost my aunt to cancer in 2009, so cancer is something which is close to my heart.”
Serena graduated from North East Scotland College with a higher national diploma in acting.
