An MSP will host talks at Holyrood with a charity which faces losing its Aberdeen base.
Aberdeen Donside MSP Mark McDonald has agreed to host the meeting after a discussion with Children 1st chief executive, Mary Glasgow, after the charity announced funding struggles.
It currently provides support to 22 children and family members from its North Silver Street base to help them recover from trauma and abuse, but lost its core funding from the council two years ago.
Mr McDonald said: “While emergency talks are unlikely to save the Aberdeen branch of Children 1st, we must find the means to continue to support local families close to breaking point over issues including poverty, abuse, mental health, alcohol misuse and trauma.”
Aberdeen City Council previously said they would explore opportunities for future services for affected children and families.
