A driver has been charged after a woman was hit by a car in a north-east supermarket car park.
Paramedics and police were called to Tesco in Buckie at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
As a result a 35-year-old woman required hospital treatment at Dr Gray’s in Elgin.
Officers have confirmed a 30-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.
Sergeant Teresa Clark said: “Following inquiry by local Buckie officers and officers from the Divisional Alcohol and Violence Reduction Unit, a 30-year-old woman was traced shortly after in connection with the alleged incident.
“She was arrested and will appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.
“Several members of the public witnessed the incident and I would like to thank them for their assistance in tending to the person who was hurt and with the subsequent inquiry.”
