Jobs in Aberdeen have been put at risk as a major retailer looks to close 50 stores.
Mothercare announced yesterday that it plans to close underperforming stores, but did not specifically say which ones were at risk.
The brand has one shop in the north-east, on Berryden Road in Kittybrewster.
Mothercare chairman, Clive Whiley said: “The recent financial performance of the business, impacted in particular by a large number of legacy loss-making stores within the UK estate, has resulted in an unsustainable situation for the Mothercare brand, meaning the group was in clear need of an appropriate resolution.”
