A north-east foodbank received more than 6,000 kilograms of food after a collection.
The Aberdeenshire North Foodbank, run by The Trussell Trust, was at Tesco in Inverurie, Huntly and Ellon last week, as well as Fraserburgh and Peterhead, to collect donations made by shoppers.
A total of 6,100kg of food and goods were given to the charity – the equivalent of almost 500 crates of food.
It also likened the gathering to the weight equivalent of one African elephant or four Mini Coopers, and thanked the public for their support.
As well as receiving food, a further £600 was given in cash, which will be used by the foodbank to support people in the north-east.
