A fast food giant has officially submitted plans for a drive-thru restaurant in the north-east.
McDonald’s is looking to build a single-storey establishment at Arnhall Business Park in Westhill.
As reported in the Evening Express on Tuesday, coffee chain Starbucks is also eyeing a new base at the site that will be just a stone’s throw away from the Dons new Kingsford Stadium.
According to a report submitted to Aberdeenshire Council, Planware Ltd, the agents for McDonald’s, said 65 jobs would be created and 46 car parking spaces.
It said: “The customer seating area comprises 110 covers for visitors to eat their meals within a relaxed modern environment.

“The dining area will include a variety of seating types and table sizes tailored to the customers’ needs.
“This application includes the introduction of a fast-forward lane, which will allow for a customer to pull forward to a third booth, if there is a small delay in the order, rather than driving through to the grill bays. This allows the traffic flow to be retained through the drive-thru lane.
“The proposed development will provide over 65 jobs for the community. Sufficient parking has been provided at the restaurant with accessible parking located as close to the restaurant entrance as possible.”
A McDonald’s spokesman previously said they looked forward to working with the local authority on its plans.
Members of the public have until January 3 to voice their opinion on the development.
Aberdeenshire Council has set a determination deadline on proposals for the start of February.
