A CELEBRITY chef is to open a new restaurant in Aberdeen next year.
As previously revealed in the Evening Express, Marco Pierre White is to open a steakhouse-themed eatery in the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel on Aberdeen’s Beach Boulevard, which should now open in March.
It is part of a £7 million renovation of the hotel by investment firm The Ability Group, who bought it in 2014.
The multi-million pound refurbishment will see the restaurant serve dishes dreamt up by White, and will lead to the creation of new jobs in the restaurant and other parts of the hotel.
The hotel already has 168 rooms, a heated indoor swimming pool and meeting rooms, and a further 25 bedrooms are to be installed as part of works.
Work on the restaurant is not predicted to start until later this year.
Marco Pierre White, who was the youngest chef to have been awarded three Michelin stars, has a similar restaurant in the Hotel Indigo on Waterloo Street in Glasgow.
