A man was taken to hospital after lifeboat crews were called to assist an offshore support vessel.
Aberdeen’s all-weather lifeboat Bon Accord was called to attend the Maersk Laser around five miles south-east of Aberdeen shortly after 7pm yesterday.
A crew member aboard required medical transfer to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI).
Two RNLI casualty-care trained crew were transferred to the ship to assess the casualty, before an accident and emergency consultant at ARI was contacted and the transfer made to hospital.
Davie Orr, coxswain of Aberdeen Lifeboat, said: “This was a very satisfactory outcome.
“We were quickly able to put casualty care crew aboard the vessel and assess symptoms.
“When I sought advice from A&E it came quickly and allowed us to bring the gentleman ashore for onward transfer to the health services ashore.”
