
A farm worker who died following an accident with a combine harvester has been named by police.
Ian Chalmers, 71, was killed in the incident at a farm in New Deer yesterday.
Emergency services including fire crews and the air ambulance were called at about 3pm, but Mr Chalmers was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Chalmers was in a field located behind New Deer’s Costcutter store when the incident happened.
Police today said inquiries to establish the full circumstances and have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
