A man has been fined £2,000 after he assaulted a reveller in Aberdeen city centre.
Andrew Simpson, 37, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court having admitted punching a man at G Casino on June 2, causing him to fall to the ground.
The court heard the victim was at the casino where one of his friends works as a door steward.
While he was there Simpson was “escorted” out and began to argue with door staff. When the victim stepped in, Simpson “punched him to the left side of his face”.
The man needed stitches to his lip, had one of his teeth knocked out and also had damage to the cartilage in his nose.
Defence for Simpson, whose address was given in court as Grampian Place, Aberdeen, said his client “very much regrets his actions”.
