A north-east man has appeared in court charged over a bomb hoax.
Gary Annand, or Simpson, was charged in connection with an incident involving a bomb hoax call relating to Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
A probe was launched after an incident last Tuesday, and Detective Sergeant Sam Harris said: “We take any report of this nature very seriously and various searches and inquiries were subsequently carried out.”
Simpson, 33, whose general address was given as Moray, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
He is facing a charge under the Criminal Law Act alleging that he communicated information to another to make them believe a bomb was present.
During the hearing he made no plea, and the case against him was committed for further examination.
Simpson was remanded in custody and is expected to appear again within the next week.
