A man has been charged following a racist incident during an amateur football match in Aberdeen.
Officers confirmed a 29-year-old has been charged in connection with the incident which took place during a game between Aberdeen University FC (AUFC) and Kincorth AFC at Tullos Playing Fields on April 20.
The match was abandoned after 30 minutes with the Aberdeen university team describing the remark towards one of their players as an “extremely offensive racial slur”.
He is anticipated to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date.
