A man has appeared in court after being found with a stolen mountain bike valued at £1,400.
Nathan Edward, 23, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court having previously pled guilty to being in possession of the stolen bicycle. It happened on May 11 on Jute Street, Aberdeen.
Depute fiscal Anne MacDonald said: “This pedal cycle was worth just under £1,400 and it was a ladies’ mountain bike and the accused was found in possession of it.
“The accused said he had bought it for £200 and he said he had his suspicions it was stolen due to the price he had obtained it for.”
Defence agent David Sutherland said: “He sensed an opportunity to acquire a bike below market value.”
Sheriff Philip Mann deferred sentence on Edward, of Cairncry Road, Aberdeen, until next month.
