An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of fires which have broken out in the Gramps area of Aberdeen.

The teenager is expected to appear at Aberdeen Court on Tuesday in connection to the incidents in the Tullos Hill and Redmoss area of The Gramps.

Inspector Chris Kerr, of the Torry Community Policing Team, said: “We are very grateful for the information that we have received from members of the public so far, and I would urge anyone who thinks they may have encountered any suspicious activity in the area during this period to contact us on 101.”

Firefighters have been called to the Aberdeen beauty spot more than 30 times in 13 days, and officers have been working with police to establish the cause of the fires.
