Man in his 60s assaulted in North-east town

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in a North-east town.

The incident happened in the Scott Court area of Huntly at 10.15am on Thursday.

A man in his 60s sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.

PC Tom Hope who is investigating the incident said: “Incidents of this nature are rare in Huntly and at the time of day that this incident took place the area would have been busy with people going about their daily business.

“There was no danger to the wider public and I would ask that anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information regarding it contact Police on 101 or attend at Huntly Police Office.”
