A 51-year-old man has been charged after a series of alleged break-ins and attempted break-ins in the north east.
The alleged incidents – which took place in the Elgin area – include a break-in to the Pancake Place, High Street, on Tuesday, an attempted break-in to Hair and Body Mechanics, South Street, on 28 September, a theft by housebreaking at JC Dawson’s Butchers, Batchen Street, on 16 September, and a break-in at the Mental Health & Wellness Centre, Batchen Street, on 17 August.

Sergeant Scott Brander said: “We are grateful to members of the community who have assisted us while inquiries have been ongoing. We continue to urge anyone who sees any suspicious activity to contact us as soon as possible with as much information on 101.”
The man is due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today.
