An Aberdeen man has admitted assaulting his daughter’s boyfriend.

Michael Rae, 43, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted the offence, which happened on June 21.

The court heard the incident occurred at 5.30pm and that Rae grabbed the man by the collar, butted him to the forehead and punched him to the head and face.

The male was left with a bloodied nose and swelling.

Rae pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place on the Lang Stracht.

Rae’s solicitor told the court his client had acted after speaking to his daughter.

He said: “She made it known to Mr Rae that the complainer had been mistreating her.”

On sentencing Rae, whose address was given in court papers as Deansloch Terrace, Aberdeen, Sheriff Ian Anderson said he would fine him £300.
