An Aberdeen man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It comes after an alleged incident within the communal stairwell of flats near George Street on Friday night.
A 29-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries after an alleged assault, however, he has since been released.
Police officers were called to the flats on Friday night at around 8.10pm.
Murray Anderson, 33, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in private in relation to the matter.
Anderson, of Aberdeen, is facing a charge of attempted murder.
During his appearance he made no plea.
The case against him was committed for further examination and he was remanded in custody.
A Crown Officer and Procurator Fiscal Service spokesman said Anderson was expected to appear in court again within the next week.
