A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after another man was taken to hospital following an incident in Aberdeen city centre.
Police were called to Shiprow at around noon yesterday.
A 30-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
Anthony Higgins, 33, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in connection with the matter.
Higgins, whose general address is described as Liverpool, is facing a charge of attempted murder.
He is also charged with assault and with having a blade in a public place.
During his hearing he made no plea, and the case against him was committed for further examination.
He was released on bail with no further dates set for future appearances.
