A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a robbery attempt at a north-east shop.
The court appearance follows an alleged incident at A&K McKenzie newsagents on Glen Moray Drive in Elgin.
Police were alerted to an incident at the store shortly after 7am on Thursday.
Shaun Willetts, 29, appeared in private at Elgin Sheriff Court in connection with the incident.
He is facing a charge of assault and attempted robbery.
During the hearing he made no plea.
The case against him was committed for further examination.
Willetts, who was described as having no forwarding address, was remanded in custody.
A spokesman for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said he was expected to appear in court again within the next week.
