The wife of a man seriously injured after an alleged murder bid outside his home has said he remains “shaken” days after his ordeal.
The woman spoke to the Evening Express as a man appeared in court charged with attempting to kill her husband in the driveway of their home on Deveron Road, Aberdeen, at 6.30am on Saturday.
It is understood the 62-year-old man heard a noise outside the property and went to investigate before the alleged attack happened.
His wife said: “He was taken to hospital and was allowed to come home at around lunchtime, but then he became poorly again on Sunday so went back into hospital.
“Thankfully he is home now. It is all still very fresh and he is still shaken by what has happened.”
Police could be seen on Deveron Road yesterday.
One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “It all happened very early in the morning and I wasn’t awake, but it is a shock that something like this has happened on our street.”
Another resident said: “It’s a total shock. I just hope the man gets better. He has gone through a lot.”
