Man, 21, charged after drugs worth £5,100 seized in Aberdeenshire

A man has been charged after more than £5,000 of drugs was seized from a property in Aberdeenshire.

Cannabis and more than £100 in cash was found at a property in the Broomhill Close area of Kingseat, Newmachar yesterday.

A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with the seizure and is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

Detective Sergeant Sam Buchan said: “A significant amount of controlled drugs have once again been seized in the North-east which could have ended up in our communities.

“I would like to thank local residents for their patience while this activity was carried out yesterday and would also continue to urge anyone with concerns about drug misuse where they live to let us know.

“Proactive action is carried out every day across the region to tackle the sale and supply of illegal substances and we rely on information and intelligence from the public to ensure we target our resources to the right places and at the right times.
