An Aberdeen university has announced its newly-elected rector.
Maggie Chapman has been re-elected with 980 preferred votes in the University of Aberdeen poll.

She said: “I am delighted that students have voted to re-elect me.
“I think students have also responded to my campaign against transphobic hate.
“They have shown that they want unity and that is what I stand for.”
Ms Chapman also thanked her campaign team, who were last year involved in a row with rival candidates, which saw the originally planned elections in November being suspended.
She is set to re-commence her rector role in April 2018.
