A new live music venue is to launch in Aberdeen in September.
Unit 51 is to open its doors in Carnegie’s Brae.
And bookings have already been made ahead of its opening at the home of the city’s former Foundation Nightclub near The Tunnels.
A building warrant has been approved for the venue, which will host live music featuring local bands, as well as having regular club nights.
It’s also hoped events such as beer festivals and art exhibitions can be held there.
And three ceilidh bookings are already in place ahead of its opening.
Bosses of Aberdeen’s Bridge Street Social Club and The Underground Klub on Bridge Street are behind the proposed development, pledging around £250,000 towards the venture.
And a spokesman today said it’s hoped the venue can be unique within the city.
He said: “There has been a load of work happening with different contractors and it’s moving ahead quite nicely.
“We are really hopeful to have it open for mid-September or maybe the last week of September at the latest.
“We want to focus on it being a concert and events venue.
“Live music is something we are really trying to focus on.”
