
Two lifeboats are carrying out a search of the North Sea after a person was reported missing.
The Coastguard said both RNLI Lifeboats based in Aberdeen were launched at just after 12.30pm today after receiving a request for help from police at just after 12.15pm.
The lifeboat crews are understood to be searching the shoreline off Cove.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “I can confirm two lifeboats have been launched and inquiries are ongoing.”
A Coastguard spokesman said: “The two Aberdeen Lifeboats were launched at 12.37pm today as part of a missing persons’ inquiry at the request of Police Scotland. A search is ongoing.”
